Course Description

While it may seem like a sub-basic statement; hydraulic systems are composed of hydraulic components. Without functionally good components that are correctly sized it is impossible to fabricate a quality system. Therefore the design and selection of hydraulic components is the cornerstone of the hydraulic technology.

The objective of this 2-day course is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the operation and design as well as the analytical descriptions of hydraulic components. Through this knowledge, the computerized design and selection of hydraulic components can be effectively applied. The concepts presented in this course are prerequisite to successful hydraulic system development.

This course is led by Dr. I. T. Hong who is one of the authors of the course's highly praised text, Hydraulic Component Design and Selection. The authors have thrown away their technical inhibitions and are now able to share material that in the past was considered proprietary information of the authors. They are opening wide the doors of their arsenal of knowledge to the attendees of this course.

Hydraulic Component Design and Selection

Each attendee will receive a copy of the book entitled book by E. C. Fitch and I. T. Hong entitled Hydraulic Component Design and Selection.  This heavyweight book with 650 pages contains nearly 400 figures including 10 nomographs, over 380 equations, 21 tables, and 48 practical examples.

Course Leader

Dr. I. T. Hong

Dr. Hong joined the Fluid Power Research Center at Oklahoma State University in 1979 and as Technical Director he managed contractual research projects. Since 1989, Dr. Hong has been President of BarDyne, Inc. He is the principal developer of the HyPneu software. Dr. Hong remains an Adjunct Professor at Oklahoma State University and is the author of over 50 papers. Dr. Hong has gained international status as an effective and active course leader and educator in the area of analytical design and computer-aided simulation.

Registration Information

The registration fee for the Computerized Hydraulic Component Analysis for System Design course is $995 per person or $895 per person for groups of three or more. 

To register for a course, please complete the registration form (Adobe Acrobat Reader required) and return it by mail, fax, or email. We will happily accept a company check, purchase order, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express for the cost of the course. All checks and purchase orders must be received before the course.

If for some reason you cannot attend, you may cancel your registration at any time or you may send a substitute. If you cancel less than 7 days before the course, there will be a $50 cancellation fee. If you cancel more than 7 days before the course, your entire payment will be refunded, or your invoice canceled. In addition, if you cannot attend, you may request that your payment be applied to a future course—and if requested, the course material will be sent to you.
